Welcome to Gafai Community School Katsina
The school is located on its temporary site within the premises of Hassan Rafindadi Quaranic Model Primary School Katsina, Katsina State Nigeria. Due to inadequacy of space, the school operates only during the evening time that is, after normal operating time of the primary school.
Currently, only junior section of the School is operational. One hundred and sixty students are studying in four classes as second year students while the first year students are made up of 200students separated into five classes.
The school uses library, laboratories and computer facilities of Government day Secondary School k/Yandaka (few meters away from the present site) in the interim pending movement to the permanent site.
SCHOOL MANAGEMENT
The management of the school is under school management committee headed by chairman and two other persons. The management committee is answerable to the Forum. Members of the management team are:
Bashir Awaisu Gafai
Co-Founder & Chairman
Mr Awaisu is born in 1963. He is Co-founder and current Chairman of the Gafai Community school. He holds Master degree in Water Resources and Environmental Management with specialty in water quality engineering from UNESCO-IHI Institute of water Education, Delft, The Netherlands. He started his working carrier at Integrated Pulp and Paper factory in Jebba Kwara state, Nigeria as a chemist in 1985. He rose to the rank of Assistant manager in the research & development department of the factory before he joined the services of Katsina State Government 1993. From 1993 to 2013 he rose to the rank of Director in the Katsina State Ministry of Water Resources.
Mr Awaisu retired from the services of Katsina State Government in 2013.
Naziru Sani
Co-Founder
Mr Sani is born in 1977. He is the current Head of department of Sciences at Government Secondary School K/Yandaka, Katsina. He is also an instructor at School of Nursing Katsina, under a program “Foundation Year Program’’ sponsored by British NGO “Women for Health”. He graduated from Bayero University Kano in 2009 and National Open University of Nigeria in 2014. He holds Masters Degree in Educational Technology. Mr. Sani attended various courses in the field of educational development in Nigeria which include: Information Technology and its Essential of Application organised by NITD, Abuja, ICT and Teaching organised by Umaru Musa Yaradua University Katsina among others. He is also a Co-founder of Gafai Community School its current School Secretary.
Dr. Abbati Ahmadu
Co-founder & Secretary
Dr Ahmadu is born in 1978. He is a doctor of Veterinary medicine serving with the Katsina State government as a senior Veterinary officer. Dr. Ahmadu is the current Head of Katsina Township Abattoir He is currently pursuing his Fellowship in Public Health and Preventive Medicine at College of Veterinary Surgeon, Nigeria. He is also a Co-founder of Gafai Community School and the secretary of the School Management Committee.
